The author has thoughtfully curated the collection to includes stories from a wide variety of sports, each of which highlights the human being at the core of a highly trained athlete. This book reminded me about why I used to love sports ( as a spectator) until all the sordid scandals and "win-at-all-costs" mentality turned me off, and also managed to change my opinion about certain sports personalities. It highlights the sportsmanship in sports, but doesn't just stop there. What is truly inspiring about this book is that it ties those moments on a sports field to life in general. The author's brilliant choice of quotes at the beginning of each chapter come from a wide variety of sources, are very apt for the situations, and highlight the universality of the experience being described. The author uses a simple, lucid style that brings the event to life for the reader, and strikes that perfect balance between vividly conveying the emotional impact of the situation, without veering into being overly dramatic or maudlin. All in all, an excellent read. I could not put it down till I finished it. This book can be enjoyed by a wide range of age groups but especially middle to high school aged kids. Even reluctant readers will like this book because it is fast paced, simply narrated, and grabs your interest. And most important of all, it will get the reader to think about values and what it means to be a true hero, without being preachy in the least.

I bought it on my Kindle and I really like what you say about Muhammad Ali. He seems very important to his culture and I love that you included so much in this book. This book does an amazing job of capturing Ali's life and is very detailed in the significant events that led to his becoming a cultural icon. I would strongly recommend this book to anyone as it was very educational about a man who was famous, but not well understood.

Panchatantra: A Collection of Stories to Achieve Practical Wisdom for Leadership Panchatantra is a treatise of five books for effective leadership, which can achieve through the wisdom imprinted in it by Vishnu Sharman, the celebrated author of Panchatantra. He created this work for awakening the intellectual power of the three princes of King Amarasakti of Mahilaropya, who were not willing and interested to learn the science of government and practical wisdom. Nowadays, the purpose and meaning of the text, Panchatantra, reduced merely to the level of children’s storybook and somehow changed the meaning of each stories into mere moral stories. But intention for the creation of this text was to teach political strategies on the basis of the science of polity in ancient India that revealed in the preamble of the text itself. The purpose of this translation under the title of ‘Achieving Practical Wisdom for Leadership’ is to give a change in the attitude of the ‘reader’ into the level of a ‘leader.’ This work is an attempt by the author of more than five years research on various translations and adaptations of Panchatantra. And this is based on one of the lost original Sanskrit text, on the basis of the principal extant versions of Panchatantra reconstructed and edited by Franklin Edgerton, with the permission from American Oriental Society, New Haven, Connecticut, U.S.A.

Potter Great stories of wisdom, morality, and proper leadership.It would possibly benefit from some prerequisite study of the Bhagavad Gita and other texts, but it stands powerfully on its own.Some translation edits would also be helpful, but it is well worth the extra focus and intent to find the meanings. I quickly picked up the flow and valued the stanza format as a more literal translation as opposed to an easy-read that sacrifices the traditional feel of a different culture.
