The Book gets 6 Rings and 5 Mics By Phillmatic365 Jimmy “The Blueprint” Williams’ hilarious, yet quite insightful views on the world at large are filtered through the perfect microcosm, sports! His book, S.P.O.R.T.S. (Smart People Only Read the Sports) is a modern day B-Boy bouillabaisse, part memoir, part slang editorial, part common sense handbook that could’ve have easily be titled “Cleats, Rhymes and Life.”Flavored with a slew of Hip-Hop quotables, pop culture references and an Illadelph State of Mind, S.P.O.R.T.S. is a magnificent stream of consciousness through which Williams’ self-awareness, humor and honesty take center stage. Players labeled as “GOATS” and Ideas long thought to be gospel in sports are challenged and at times flat-out “Ethered” (No Nasir Jones).Ironically after reading S.P.O.R.T.S. it did feel like it was the Illmatic of sports books. You need a little clarity? Check the similarities. S.P.O.R.T.S., Williams’ debut book was a lifetime in the making. By design it’s short in length (II) but filled with depth and insight using words to a paint picture of author’s world. The genuine realness and creativity are in stark contrast to most of what’s being spat these days. Like Illmatic, S.P.O.R.T.S. has one guest appearance, Devin McMillian, wrote the foreword. Lastly, it challenges the status quo and restores faith in humanity . . . ok that last part may have been a bit OD but if this last paragraph makes little to no sense at to you then proceed to the follow these steps:

Burton In his debut book, Jimmy "The Blueprint" Williams - aka "The Black Victor Newman" - breaks down the sports issues of the day in a way that, quite frankly, no one else can. For example, in "S.P.O.R.T.S.", Williams effortlessly works in references to both "The Karate Kid" and R&B singer Ralph Tresvant into an essay about the unwritten rules of baseball, and somehow, it all manages to come together.An unabashed hip-hip and pop culture junkie, Williams - politically incorrect and proud of it - writes in a conversational tone that's easily accessible to the reader: If you've ever had a debate about sports in your local barbershop, you'll love what Williams brings to the table in this book.S.P.O.R.T.S. is a highly entertaining read, and I'm looking forward to what "The Blueprint" has in store for us in the future.

This book is hilarious and you have no choice but to agree with what he is saying in each chapter because majority of what he is saying is 99.95% true. La novela del mismo nombre, la primera que escribió Galdós unos cincuenta años después de aquellos 1820, fechas del Trienio Constitucional, tiene su foco principal en aquel café, que por entonces servía de centro de tertulias de liberales y de foro de sus prácticas oratorias. Esta novela cuenta, pues, hechos históricos al estilo de los "Episodios Nacionales". Se refieren, dice el autor a "uno de los períodos de turbación política y social más graves e interesantes en la gran época de reorganización, que principió en 1812 y no parece próxima a terminar todavía". Los últimos capítulos del libro estaban saliendo de la pluma de Galdos cuando sucedía la Revolución Septembrina, que, a juicio suyo, tantas similitudes guardaba con lo descrito en ellos. Por esas semejanzas se decidió a escribir esta obra.

About the Author Benito Pérez Galdós (1843 - 1920) fue un novelista, dramaturgo y cronista español. Se trata del mayor representante de la novela realista del siglo XIX en España, y uno de los más importantes escritores en lengua española. Galdós fue uno de los más firmes candidatos al Premio Nobel de Literatura de 1912, pero una campaña por parte de sus enemigos políticos disuadió a la Academia Sueca de galardonarlo.

"La Fontana de Oro" is an incredibly fast paced history which develops itself in Madrid, Spain, in the twenties. But not in the 1920's but in the 1820's. "La Fontana de Oro" es una historia de ritmo trepidante que se desarrolla en Madrid, España, en los años 20. Pero no en los años 20 de 1900 sino de 1800. Pérez Galdós is in a fierce competition within himself. The descriptive Pérez Galdós is almost as strong as the narrative Pérez Galdós, and page after page they develop a fight, to see who is better and stronger. And it's impossible to tell. He is a master narrrator but also a master with perfect descriptions of people or things. Yo have to read it to believe it. Pérez Galdós vive una fiera competencia dentro de sí mismo. El Pérez Galdós descriptivo es casi tan fuerte como el Pérez Galdós narrativo, y página tras páginas ambos desarrollan un combate para ver quien es el mejor y el más fuerte. Y es imposible definirlo.
