By Cherise Scrivner You will find many familiar versions of nursery rhymes, filled with Martial Arts kicks and twists in The Princess and the Ogre. Your kids will love hearing and reading it, and you will enjoy it as well. Don't miss out on reading your favorite tales like This Little Piggy, Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs.The creativity in the book is great and the moral lessons of the stories are not just fun to read but educating at the same time. By Jim Mather I have been involved in and taught the martial arts for almost 60 years and have an M.A. degree from Stanford in Education. I found Mr. Pottle's stories a very creative and effective twist on our children's classics. Not only were his stories and rhymes entertaining but they each contained a important message for young people in general but further enhanced by their relevance to young students of the martial arts. His use of a brick to explain the differences between various stances was masterful. I immediately brought an old red brick I had in my backyard to my school so I could use it to explain the same to my young (and old) students. Great job!
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Lots of fun, clever twists on classic fairy tales By David Stockton I picked this up today and it was a lot of fun to read. It contains several classic fairy tale stories with a twist to teach lessons about martial arts. There are also some traditional nursery rhymes that have been modified to meet the martial arts and Taekwondo themes. I really did enjoy reading the stories and I'm looking forward to reading the book to my kids for bedtime.
